5/6 MAC November Newsletter
Hey 5/6 MAC Family!
Linked at the bottom you will find our newsletter for this month, which gives an update on what's going on and what's to come in our classroom. Some other important things to note would be our fun pyramid building in Humanities, the approaching end of 1st trimester, and our class field trip in early January.
Students have been emersed in the culture of ancient Egypt over the past couple of weeks through the lens of both Religion and Humanities. To bring more of Egypt into our classrooms, students are designing and constructing their own pyramids using marshmallows and toothpicks. Check out the photos below from today’s first trial session - the students were having a blast!
The official end of 1st trimester is Friday, December 5th. Students with missing work should get it in promptly, or see me for extra copies before the end of the trimester. I'm happy to help in any way. Please reach out with any questions you may have as you check FACTS to see your student's scores and notice missing assignments.
With our newest science unit focusing on weather and climate, we have a really cool opportunity to visit a local broadcasting studio, KXLY, to learn about their behinds-the-scenes processes. Our 5/6 MAC class will check out the radio section of the building, see the production studios, look at the master control room, and end with a tour of the newsroom itself. What a fun chance for students to ask questions, and see how their learning can grow into a lifelong career. I'll be reaching out as we get closer for parent drivers/chaperones, so keep your morning free on January 9th if you are interested in joining us!
As always, it is a blessing to be here with your students each and every day. They are a beautiful mosaic of virtues, coloring the classroom with God's love and wisdom and beauty each day. Thank you for everything you do to support them from home.
With peace, gratitude, and goodness,
Mr. Rogers
