Toddler Teacher

Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the lead teacher with all classroom activities. A toddler teacher must have a great love and patience for children, knowledge of best practices, help develop their social and emotional skills and earn the child’s trust and attention.
Responsibilities:
● Participate in classroom and outside daily routines and activities. Utilize daily routines to support individual learning opportunities.
● Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of an early childhood curriculum.
● Assist in assessing the developmental needs of infants and tracking individual progress by recording ongoing assessments.
● Assist with maintaining required documentation, records, and supplies.
● Work effectively as a member of a classroom team.
● Stay informed by attending all necessary training and meetings and reading all written program updates.
● Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions.
Qualifications:
● To perform this job successfully, an individual must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or general education degree.
● An individual must also be able to pass a Department of Children Youth Families (DCYF) background check and enroll in the MERIT workforce registry.
● Completion of Basic STARS class upon hire; continuing education as mandated by the state.
● Knowledge of child development and experience in a childcare center is a plus!

The Washington state certified teacher will strive to fulfill the mission of St. Aloysius Gonzaga school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students for whom the teacher is responsible, within the framework of the school's Catholic faith, philosophy, organization, and curriculum. This is a classroom position. Strong understanding of junior high curriculum is preferred with an emphasis in science and math. The teacher needs to provide the appropriate learning environment, and activities designed to maximize student competencies, and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. This teaching position is part of a grade band that works collaboratively together for the best needs of children.

The Washington state certified teacher will demonstrate expertise in planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students for whom the teacher is responsible, within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
This is a multi-age classroom, having a strong understanding of curriculum is preferred in teaching math, literacy, differentiated instruction, and science. The teacher needs to provide the appropriate learning environment, and activities designed to maximize student competencies, and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. This teaching position is part of a grade band that works collaboratively together for the best needs of children.
Salary:
$43,064 - $76,401; offered pay is based on the Catholic diocesan-wide certificated pay scale, relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
Hours:
This is a full time 1.0 FTE teaching position; a 12 month contract

Part-Time School Counselor – St. Aloysius Catholic School
St. Aloysius Catholic School is seeking a part-time School Counselor for the 2025-2026 academic year. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and mission-driven School Counselor to join our team. The counselor will support the overall well-being of students in grades K-8 by providing guidance services, social-emotional learning support, and consultation for teachers and families. This position plays a key role in promoting a safe and faith-filled learning environment.
Preference is given to those candidates who have experience in a school setting and are practicing Catholics.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small-group counseling to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students in K through 8th grade.
Respond to student needs through individualized intervention planning, implementation, and progress monitoring.
Share expertise in child development, behavior, and self-regulation to support internal accommodation plans and classroom strategies.
Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and student support teams to identify student needs and implement effective interventions.
Promote a positive and inclusive school climate by designing and delivering developmentally appropriate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons across all grade levels.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians, providing consultation, resources, and strategies to support student well-being at home and school.
Participate in and contribute to crisis response and intervention planning as needed.
Assist with transitions between grade levels or schools, helping students adjust to new environments and expectations.
Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in all counseling practices.
Support and model the Catholic mission and identity of the school in all interactions, programs, and guidance efforts.
Promote the dignity of each student as a child of God, guiding them to grow in self-awareness, self-discipline, empathy, and virtue.
Highly Qualified School Counselor:
Valid ESA Certificate - Holds a current Washington Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate in school counseling.
Master’s Degree - Completed a master’s degree in school counseling or a related field from an accredited program.
Knowledge of State Standards & SEL - Understands and applies Washington State Learning Standards and implements effective Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies.
Data-Informed Practice - Uses data to identify student needs, guide interventions, and evaluate counseling program effectiveness.
Family & Community Engagement - Collaborates with families and partners with community resources to support student success.
Ethical & Professional Standards - Practices in alignment with ASCA ethical standards and Washington State legal requirements.
Pay:
$25,626 - $38,201 (this is salary at part-time); offered pay is based on the Catholic diocesan-wide certificated pay scale, relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
