St. Al's Art Philosophy

At St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic School, our visual arts program is designed to provide students with fundamental art skills (such as drawing, painting, and sculpting) and introduce them to the concept of art history, the great masters, and how art can be a powerful way of expressing your blessings and connecting with the world. Moreover, students are given the tools to discuss their art-making processes and communicate their ideas in the spirit of the school’s mission, to graduate “leaders in action, modeled on Christ.” Most of all, they are given a platform upon which to share their artistic gifts with their peers and their Catholic community. St. Al's students learn visual art skills and spend time creating works of art using clay, paint, pencil, paper, and more. In this class, they will investigate different artists and practice various art techniques, all while developing their own creative artistic abilities!
