Important Information:

  • Auction Project: Thank you so much to all of you who donated books for our project. I am so grateful for Tess Wyborney and Jana Swenson for their leadership on this project! I have put some pictures of our project at the top of this newsletter.
  • TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE FOR OUR ANNUAL AUCTION on Saturday, April 30!!! You should have received your Invitation this week. Scan the QR code on the invite to buy auction tickets – $60 per person, includes dinner and 2 drink tickets! We can’t wait to celebrate with our St. Al’s community again in our beautiful Garco Gymnasium!

Highlights from our Week:

  • Math: In third grade, we continued to explore geometry with geoboards. In fourth grade, we continued multiplying and dividing with larger numbers. We really practiced our strategies for breaking down these multi-digit problems.
  • Religion: During Monday Morning Prayer, the 7th graders taught us when and how to pray. On Thursday we went to the Lenten Reconciliation service at our church. We also read from our devotional and used our Bibles to look up and discuss the scripture passage from the devotional.
  • Writing: We continued working on our informational writing.
  • Science: We went to the STEM Lab and explored what happens when we get lima beans wet. We also observed our plants.
  • Social Studies: We learned all about the fur trappers in the Spokane area and how they interacted with the Native Americans in the 1800’s.
  • Reading: We continued looking at the questioning strategy that helps us comprehend. We also pulled evidence from the text of a fictional book to help us determine its theme. We continued with our novel studies as well.
  • Technology: We used the Chromebooks for our research writing.
