Important Information:

  • Pajama Day (Our Class Only): Our class is having their Pajama Day (which was postponed due to the school closure) on Tuesday, February 8th. The kids may wear school appropriate pajamas and tennis shoes that day (no slippers). They may also bring a small stuffed animal that fits into their backpacks.
  • Valentine’s Day Party: We will have our party on Monday, February 14th in the afternoon. I will email a class list for valentines as well as a google doc for things needed for the party. Thank you!
  • Snacks: Thank you for the wonderful response! We now have plenty!
  • Generation Alive: Our school is participating in this awesome program which provides meals for food insecure people in our Spokane community. On March 1st, we will pack meals for these people. All of the meals we pack only cost one quarter. We are asking for your support in raising money for these meals. The children brought home Generation Alive boxes on Monday to collect money. On February 16th, 10 % of all proceeds from the Flying Goat will go towards this event! Thank you for your support!
  • Annual Fund: Thank you in advance for your support as we embrace 2022 doing our best to LOVE & SERVE Jesus and one another! CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK CLASS COMPETITION! Our annual fund class competition is back, and this year we are hosting this fun and friendly competition in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week! Every annual fund gift received by Friday, February 4, will be counted in the competition, including those we have already received. Our class is in first place! Thank you!! We currently have 70 %

Highlights from our Week:

  • Math: In both grades, we wrapped up unit 4 and took the test. We also began our new Calendar Grids. Fourth grade is studying angles this month and 3rd grade is studying area and perimeter.
  • Religion: We continued learning the Apostles’ Creed. We also enjoyed a beautiful Friends and Family mass at the church.
  • Writing: We went back and revised our opinion essays from last week by fact checking our opinions. We used the Chromebooks to look into our reasons and added to our essays.
  • Science: We continued our exploration of motion by doing an experiment by making Twirlybirds.
  • Social Studies: We wrapped up our map unit by finishing our continent maps. They are now hanging in the hall!
  • Reading: For comprehension, we continued our study of non-fiction features. This week we looked at how glossaries help us when we read. We also continued our novel studies. During our CAFÉ lesson, we looked at how we can determine the main idea of a story and pull evidence from the text.
  • Technology: We used this time to fact check our opinions for our essays.
