Class News

Focus Points for this week:
• Log into our Google Classroom “home base” and submit the assignments for this week.
Look in the “upcoming” section or classwork section to see assignments. These will be due Friday, June 5th.
• You will notice that the class workload this week is much lighter. Please use this week to do any make-up assignments and turn them into me.
• State Project Information: The final State Project will be Due June 5th. This week a section with optional challenges are open and the final state project section. Please have your child upload their final project in any format that works best for them to the Google Classroom Assignment title Final State Project. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore media, technology, as well as posters. Possible formats mentioned in our zoom meeting included poster, PowerPoint, Google Slide, making a book, or taking pictures of and turning in the final copy of the pages from each section. Please format the project in the way that works best for your family. If you have any questions, let me know. I will also upload your child’s project to the webpage so that other classmates can see the wonderful work everyone has done on the state project!
• We will share our state projects with the class on zoom. This zoom will be Wednesday, June 3 in order to accommodate Fund Run activities.
• Monday, June 1st our 4th grade class will finish the Auction Project- Please see the separate email from Brianna Barbieri that was sent our earlier today.

Class Zoom Meetings (Not required but are strongly encouraged):
• Wednesday, June 3 Agenda (Small Group State Project Share) 9:00-10:00
o In small groups, your child will have time to share something from their state project they found most interesting or enjoyed most. This may be something they learned, a short paragraph from a section they enjoyed, an activity from the optional challenge list, a picture of the state map, or something they got while in their state. The list is endless, if your child is unsure if an item is okay, please contact me to verify. This will be a wonderful time to share our projects! Look for the Zoom invitations for your group.

Fund Run:
• T-shirt Pick up Thursday, June 4
o 8th grade: 9:00 – 10:00 AM (if an 8th grader has a younger sibling their shirt will be available at this time)
o The rest is based on first letter of last name:
 A–F 10:00 – 10:30 AM
 G–K: 10:30 – 11:00 AM
 L–Q: 11:00 – 11:30 AM
 R–Z: 11:30 – 12:00 PM
• Fund Run Friday, June 5: 15-20 min of running/activity. This schedule will give everyone a time to run, share photos and have FUN!
o All students who participate and families that share photos with us at [email protected], will receive a FREE DRESS pass for each student in the family!!
SCHEDULE (FUND RUN START TIMES): this is possible both Friday and Saturday, as we will be sharing pictures through the weekend!

• On Friday, June 5, 2020, St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic School will celebrate our 34th Annual Fund Run in a unique and virtual format. What’s a VIRTUAL FUND RUN? This means we will run or walk at home on race day, June 5. We will run on a treadmill, jog around the neighborhood, walk around the block or walk right in my own home. We are continuing with this fun-filled community event to promote physical fitness, honor our 8th grade class of 2020, build community, and provide HOPE and INSPIRATION to our St. Al’s families. All students, families, parishioners, alumni, and friends are welcomed to participate! Our goal for this year is to unite our St. Al’s community through this virtual Holy Spirit moment. We will run/walk for 15-20 minutes with our schoolmates (virtually, of course) for school spirit! Please bless us with your gift of PRAYER and run/walk with us if you are able. If you are inspired to give a financial gift, we would gladly accept that as well. You can provide a prayer and/or a financial gift on the link below or mail it to the school. Volunteer Hours: During this unprecedented time, we believe each family has fulfilled all their volunteer hours and then some with our new continuous learning model. Please do not worry about turning in hours, we have marked everyone down as complete.
