Celebrating Frank Stella!
Let’s celebrate another May-born artist, the contemporary abstract artist, Frank Stella. Have you ever heard of a square rainbow? Frank Stella became famous for his “Concentric Squares” in rainbow colors in the 1960’s. Draw a square and make another smaller square inside it until you get at least 6 squares. The smallest one will be in the center. Use a ruler if you want, but it’s not necessary. Then color your square outlines in RAINBOW (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet) order. I even used Silly Scents crayons on my Frank Stella rainbow – my artwork smells great this week! Have fun creating your Frank Stella-inspired square rainbows, and feel free to share them with me at [email protected]
