Happy Monday second grade families!

Thank you so much for your patience, teamwork, and hard work last week during this transition time. I know this has been a huge change for all of us and I know that with God’s help, we will get through this! I sent out an email this morning with work for the week. I want to create lessons that are engaging for students but not too hard and time consuming on the parents. Please feel free to reach out at anytime if you are feeling overwhelmed or if you would like additional work for your child. I am available by email Monday-Friday.

For school this week, I would like students to create their own math game. Math tubs are used often in the classroom. Have your child create their own math game! They can make a game board, cards, dice, whatever they need for their game. Have them come up with rules for their game and practice playing with them a few times. When we return to school, students can bring their games with them to share.

I have attached 2 phonics pages for this week. For science, have them complete the “doodle it” scavenger hunt. This can be done in your own backyard! Please continue to have your child read, write, and practice math facts daily. I have attached a March Writing Prompts calendar with a journal topic for every day. Feel free to modify this to fit your families needs.

I will continue to send out a newsletter every Monday with information for the week. Thank you for your continued partnership and communication. Communication is going to be the key during this school closure.
