Important Class & School Information:
*Thank you to Ann Smith and Sarah Schwering who are spearheading our class auction basket and project! They have sent out an email to all of you requesting donations for our Slumber Party baskets. Please consider donating. If you turn in your items before this Thursday, February 27th, your family will be entered into a drawing for a $200 tuition Credit!
We are excited about our class project this year! We will be making a Jesse Tree which we learned about during our Advent Religion class.
*Our main field trip is coming up on April 30th which will be here before we know it. We are going to the Spokane House at Riverside State Park to learn about the Spokane Native Americans and Fur Trappers. This is a Social Studies unit we are beginning this week. We will need several volunteers on this trip. If you would like to go with us, you will need to be Virtus trained. Please watch the volunteer section of the Monday News for scheduled trainings. You can also contact Aleisha Webb firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Thank you in advance if you are wanting to come!

Math: We reviewed the Number Corner concepts of fractions, area, perimeter, telling time, and elapsed time.
Religion: On Tuesday we watched a beautiful video of Mass. Ask your child to share with you what made this video so special. We also began learning the second part of the Apostles’ Creed while also reviewing the first part.
Science: We were so blessed to have two guest speakers this week! On Wednesday, an educator from Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge came to our class and shared about endangered species. On Friday, a speaker from the Spokane Aquifer came and spoke to our class. This was such great learning for us!! We also learned about the life cycle of our mealworms this week. We learned that our little critters go through Complete Metamorphosis. Our caterpillars also came this week! Lots happening in the world of Science in our classroom!
Language Arts: We reviewed for and took our quiz on verbs this week. We will begin a new grammar unit this week. During writing, we took our mealworm research from the technology lab to compose a five paragraph informational essay. We also continued to read in our guided groups.
