Math: We wrapped up our Number Corner unit on fractions. We also reviewed and took our Number Corner assessment check-up.
Religion: For Catholic Schools Week, Ms. Beall introduced our door theme “Caring for God’s Creation” by exploring the Book of Genesis in her Bible. The children were given a living thing found in the Bible to decorate. On the back, they wrote how they care for God’s creation. Check out our door! She also talked about Holy Spirit moments with the children. They created Holy Spirit clouds that are on display in our front office area. This week we also began learning the hand motions and words to the first part of the Apostles’ Creed.
Social Studies: On Tuesday, we partnered with the 8th graders to build community. Our third graders had one on one conversations with them to get to know them. The 8th graders also brought our students stuffed animals to adopt. Our class loved it!
Science: Ms. Beall created a STEM lesson for the students. They learned all about the Engineering Design Process during her lesson. The students had to collaborate in teams on how to build the tallest tower with limited materials. Look for pictures of this fun lesson on my website.
Language Arts: During reading, we continued working in our guided groups. Our groups changed a bit after testing last week and we are now back into the swing of meeting in groups with Mrs. Dvorak, Ms. Beall, and myself. We read a lot this week!
