Dec. 9th-13th

Happy Monday second grade families! As we head into this second week of Advent, may we be reminded of the joy that is Jesus’ birth. Last week, we learned the meaning of each candle on the Advent wreath. The theme of the first week of Advent is Hope. We reflected on what we have to be hopeful for this Advent season. This week we will focus on the theme of Peace. Ask your child what about the Christmas season gives them peace!

Today we have the Immaculate Conception Mass at 12:15 PM. Please join us if your schedule allows!

A few reminders for this week:

  • We will be having a fire drill on Tuesday (12/10) at 9:20 AM. Please no drop-offs or pick-ups during this time.
  • This Friday (12/13) is Christmas Sweater and/or sock day! Students may wear Christmas sweaters/socks with their uniform.
  • The K-8 Christmas Program is Tuesday, December 17th, at 6:30 PM at St. Al’s Church.
  • Christmas Break is December 23rd– January 3rd. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th.
  • Advent Hallway Prayer continues this week! We will begin prayer shortly after 8:35 AM.
  • Please write your child’s name on all hats and gloves. These items are small and are easily misplaced.
  • Please let me know if you are going to be picking your child up early from school. We are practicing for the Christmas Program and will sometimes not be in our classroom. If you could let me know ahead of time that would be greatly appreciated!
