Nov. 18-22

Happy Monday second grade families! I hope everyone had a great weekend and you are feeling rested for another week. Last week, the class earned their final marble to reach our class party! We have been trying to earn 150 marbles since the beginning of the school year, so I am proud of them for achieving this goal! They voted on a pajama and movie party. This Thursday (11/21) will be pajama or comfy clothes day for second grade. Students may also bring in a small stuffed animal with them. Go Second Grade!

We are still collecting items for Operation Christmas Child! Our sign-up sheet has a few empty spots so if you have not signed up, there is still time this week! The sign-up sheet is located in between the MAC class and 1st grade on the bulletin board. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Please bring in all items by this Friday (11/22).

This week, we are starting a new science unit on designing windmills! We will be learning about what technology is and what engineers do. I am excited to teach this unit because it has so many hands-on learning opportunities for the students. We will also be taking our Unit 2 math assessment this week.

A few reminders for this week:

  • Individual Picture re-takes will be this Friday (11/22)!
  • Scholastic Book orders are due this Thursday (11/21). You can order books online using our class code V77V9.
