Next week beginning on Monday for 7th and 8th graders and on Friday for 5th and 6th graders, we will start our Fall MAP Testing (Measures of Academic Progress). Students will be tested using Chromebooks in the areas of Reading, Language Usage, and Math. 5th and 7th graders will also be tested in Science. This computer adaptive test will provide data for teachers about a child’s current academic level, where they need focused instruction, the extent of their progress, and provide one data point for future class placements.
With students beginning their testing next week, please ensure that your son or daughter comes to school well rested and having eaten breakfast in order to be prepared to do his or her best on these assessments.
This year, students will be tested a total of three times in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The testing windows scheduled for this year are:
Fall: September 16-October 3
Winter: January 6-24
Spring: April 20-May 7
At Fall conferences in November, teachers will be able to share MAP data with you on your child’s progress. Please let Mrs. Dawn Manfred, Mrs. Amanda Holland, or your child’s homeroom teacher know if you have any questions.
