Third Grade Insect Poster
During our study of mealworms, we also have expanded our learning about two other insects (milkweed bugs and butterflies). Expert groups in our class are currently studying these insects so they can teach the other children. Each child has been placed in an expert group.
Your child is now ready to become an expert on one more insect that we haven’t yet studied in our classroom. Please choose an insect and create a poster to share the information with the rest of the class. The following must be included on your poster:
- Name of insect
- Picture (either drawn or real) of insect
- Labels of the main body parts (head, thorax, abdomen, wings, 6 legs, and antennae)
- Diagram of the life cycle
- Two interesting facts about the insect
- Your name
The poster is due Wednesday, April 10th. These will be part of your child’s Science grade for the third trimester. I will look for effort and if you included all of the parts on your poster. The poster can be on either poster board or construction paper. Please let me know if you need some paper. If you have questions, please let me know.
