We are busy learning about penguins here in the 1st grade! Our “blubber glove” science experiment was a hit, and helped us to see first-hand how the blubber on a penguin helps keep it warm during very cold weather. Our learning continues this week as we learn more about rockhopper, little blue, king, and emperor penguins. We will see pictures of the eggs of these wonderful oviparous animals, and conduct a compare and contrast writing assignment between the birth of birds and mammals.
Just a reminder that we will not have school on Friday, February 15th due to a Teacher In-Service, and we will not have school on Monday, February 18th in observance of Presidents Day.
Thank you for sharing your amazing students with me. I love seeing the world through their eyes.
