Week of 10/22-10/26

Hello Families!

I hope these beautiful fall days are treating you well. Your children continue to amaze me with their compassion, empathy, and willingness to grow and this season always reminds me to be grateful for the gifts each child brings to the classroom.

Last week, you should have received a practice emergency text message from IRIS. If you did not get this text message, please contact the front office to make sure your IRIS information is current and correct.

This next week, we will be starting spelling again with Chapter 7 (Chapter 6 is a review chapter). The words are available below under Documents. There will be a pretest Monday and a test on Friday.

There are several important dates next week including:

  • Sports Free Dress
  • Spelling pretest, spelling practice assigned
  • Spinelli Books passed out
  • Photo booth brainstorming

  • Evacuation Drill to Fourth Memorial at 9:00AM – Children may not be picked up or dropped off between 8:50 and 10:00 because of the drill. Please talk to your child about following directions in an emergency situation. These drills can be emotionally difficult and children will want to hear reassurances from you. This is also an opportunity for you to talk with your child about emergency situations that occur outside of school and what your family emergency plans entail.
  • Spelling practice due
  • Spinelli book groups, calendar check
  • Compare and contrast practice
