Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me for another week here at Saint Al’s! This week your 6th grader tackled MAP Testing, persevered through a difficult spelling list, and demonstrated their knowledge of complete sentences vs sentence fragments. This upcoming week is just as excited, with a couple of things to note:
9/24 – Spelling PreTest: Words with ei and ie… YIKES! (Words available in email and on the website)
9/25 – Meet with our 1st grade buddies for the first time — Please partner with me to emphasize with your child his or her leadership role while working with the younger grades.
9/27 – All School Mass (10:15)
Begin Mesopotamia Unit
9/28 – Teacher In-Service Day (no school, but the ELC is open)
In addition, students will have daily reading and Lit Groups assignments. Also, anyone who missed MAP testing this week will make it up next week
Lastly, I have been working with The City of Spokane to ensure our School Zone lighting is properly functioning. If you notice the lights are not flashing in the morning to indicate a school zone, please let me know and I will update my contact with the city Street Department directly.
Thank you again for this week with your children, they are truly a delightful group of young people! Have a wonderful weekend!
