Dear 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Families,
Beginning on Monday, we will start our Fall MAP Testing (Measures of Academic Progress). 6th-8th grade students will be tested using Chromebooks in the areas of Reading, Language Usage, and Math. This computer adaptive test will provide data for teachers about a child’s current academic level, where they need focused instruction, the extent of their progress, and provide one data point for future class placements.
With students beginning their testing next week, please ensure that your son or daughter comes to school well rested and having eaten breakfast in order to be prepared to do his or her best on these assessments.
This year, students will be tested a total of three times in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The testing windows scheduled for this year are:
Fall: September 17-October 5
Winter: January 7-25
Spring: April 23-May 13
At Fall conferences in November, teachers will be able to share MAP data with you on your child’s progress. Please let Mrs. Dawn Manfred or your child’s homeroom teacher know if you have any questions.
