5/6 Soda-Pop STEAM in Action!

The 5/6 art class has been studying the Pop Art of Andy Warhol and discussing how advertising and logos can have cultural and emotional significance.  We watched a short biographical video about Warhol and his art, and have taken on the challenge of drawing soda-pop bottles in his style. Moreover, we have been measuring the dimensions of the bottles and working on converting these measurements to a smaller scale for our drawing projects, showing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) in action!  Students will also be asked to address Warhol’s use of duplicated images in different color schemes to create collaborative partner projects…stay tuned for the results!

I am St. Aloysius School's art teacher for grades K-8. It is a joy to bring art instruction to our students.
