Dear Families,
I wanted to let you know that we have hired a new fourth grade teacher for the upcoming year. Please help me welcome Jordan Byrd back to our St. Al’s community. She is a past alumni of St. Al’s school, parish and Gonzaga Prep. She brings so many gifts to our school and her passion for Catholic education is inspiring. She has written a introduction paragraph below.
Hello,
My name is Jordan Byrd and I am honored to be your fourth grade teacher this coming year! I am an alum from the St. Al’s Class of ’08, and Prep ’12. I am thrilled to be back at the school that laid the foundation for my future in education.
In fact, it was in second grade at this school, that I first realized I wanted to become a teacher. That desire led me to complete my degree in education at Whitworth University. I recently completed my first year of teaching in a fourth grade classroom in Kent, Washington. I am so pleased to be moving back to Spokane to be nearer to my family.
In just a few short weeks, I am getting married! So after a summer of reading, spending time at the lake, and playing with my dog Pepper; I will greet you on the first day of school as Mrs. Hirst!
I am thrilled to be part of the St. Al’s team and cannot wait to meet you this fall!
Jordan Byrd
I have also attached the school calendar and the classroom supply list. The new ELC playground is coming along nicely and we are so excited to have it completed. Our facilities team is working hard on various building projects this summer.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Blessings,
