Have an Arty Summer!
We’ve had such a fun year of learning new ideas and techniques in art class! Why don’t you practice your skills over the summer? Here are a few ways to keep your creativity flowing during the break:
- Sketch a place you visit on vacation. Have you ever drawn the beach, or the Rocky Mountains, or Disneyland? Try to capture your favorite place you visit this summer with a quick pencil drawing.
- Sculpt an animal or building out of natural clay or sand. Let your imagination go wild! How about creating a unicorn or a castle? You could even buy some air-dry clay from the craft store.
- Photograph a beautiful summer scene to paint now or later when we’re surrounded with snow. You can use a relative’s cell phone to snap a picture.
- Dream up new ideas for next year’s art projects!
Wishing you and your families a safe, happy, and blessed summer break!
Sincerely,
Erin McKernan, Art Teacher
