“We must not allow the mistakes of our

lives to discourage us from boldly living our faith.”

~ John Abbate

Message from Principal Angie Krauss:

Dear Families,

It was a beautiful three day weekend!  I know I enjoyed the gift of time and being able to share fellowship with family and friends.  I am continually amazed at the beauty in God’s creation and how the sunshine marks the beginning of summer.

I am so excited that Friday is Fund Run!  I love seeing our toddlers through eighth graders uniting together to support the school.  We appreciate our school community and how they make this event possible. We begin with the setup crew on Thursday night transforming our field into a track, so to speak.  On Friday morning, the 7th and 8th graders will run first to set the stage for the day.

We also have two parent/alumni owned businesses that are giving back a portion of their proceeds to the school if we support them on the week of Fund Run. On Thursday evening, you can buy a pizza and carbo load at Papa Murphy’s on Ruby a few blocks from the School. On Friday, cool off with a yogurt at FroYo on Hamilton street. We  appreciate the support of all our Fund Run sponsors and how they build the foundation for this event

We will attach the run schedule and hope you can come and enjoy this community building event on Friday!

In Christ’s Peace,

Angie Krauss

Message from ELC Administrator Julie Simmons:

Hello ELC Families!  Summer is just around the corner…check out these fun activities we are planning!

Please mark your calendars for the first summer ice cream social to reconnect with one another and to welcome our new kiddos & families for June 26 from 9:30-12:00.  Many thanks to Alida Tei, parent in Blue Jays classroom, who has graciously stepped up to help us organize this very fun event! Details to follow soon!

We are also planning a fun Carnival/Field Day for Friday, June 15.  Look for more details from your classroom teacher and on our flier.

Super Tots is returning!  Beginning Wednesday, June 27th our kiddos aged 18 months-5 years of age will have the opportunity to participate in fun soccer and/or basketball activities outdoors once a week with the Skyhawks instructors.  The cost will be $45 for 7 lessons. More information on how to register will be forthcoming shortly from SuperTots.

See you this Friday at Fund Run!

Blessings to you all this week!

Julie

Important Notes & Reminders:

St. Aloysius Fall Sport Sign Up!  Sign up is continuing for St. Aloysius Gonzaga Fall Sports.  Just Google “St. Aloysius Gonzaga Family ID” to sign up! It’s easy and if your child has played St. Al’s Sports before, registration will be very quick!  It is not necessary to pay at this time, however, it is good to sign up early to reserve your child’s spot and help the Athletic Department prepare for the fall.

For 5 & 6 Tackle Football and 7 & 8 Tackle Football, please see flyers attached and sign your child up now!  Registration is $85.00 if it is done before June 5; the fee jumps to $135.00 after this date because we must buy equipment early and also for team formation (which schools will play with our team).   Questions? Call Pete at 509-362-4411.

CAST of CHARACTERS DRAMA CAMP Info:

Back by popular demand, this two-week intensive camp inspires Spokane’s youth to be creative and imaginative. Within two weeks, campers will put on a full musical production, complete with improv and choreography, as well as having a blast while doing it. Originally brought to Spokane by Andi and Sean Kane, CAST has been around for over a decade and still going strong! CAST is located at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, WA and run by Cataldo Drama Director Jenna Solberg as well as Yours Truly (along with a host of wonderful high school-aged counselors).

CAST runs from August 6-17, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. Registration costs $250, but we do have some scholarships available (please contact Mr. Barfield if you’re interested). CAST is open to all students going into grades 4-9, and it’s not just for St. Al’s kids. Know an All Saints actor who’d be interested? Forward this along! But hurry before it’s too late! There are a limited number of spots this year.  Follow this link to Prep’s website to register: https://goo.gl/sy7cpo
