“Prayer is much more than ‘saying your prayers.’
Prayer is a spiritual adventure.”
~ Fr. John Bartunek
Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe we’re halfway through April and, as I look at the calendar, our year end events and activities will be here before we realize it. I will highlight some of these below for your calendering and planning purposes:
-
Family Dance this Friday— we encourage all our families to attend our family dance and get to know each other. The event is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Be ready to dance the night away! Cost Per family is $15.00
-
Living Rosary on May 10th at 10:15— this is led by the eighth grade class. It is their last event besides graduation that they will serve as our spiritual leaders.
-
Hero Projects on May 17th—This is the culminating project for all eighth grade students. They are asked to choose a hero and present them to the classes and guests. Our students display their written and oral public speaking skills in an impactful way demonstrating their Christlike leadership.
-
Marian Mass on May 18th at 10:15– The special women in our children’s lives will be honored at this Mass led by the 6th grade class.
-
Fund Run on June 1st— this is one of our favorite community building events and our last key fundraiser for our operating budget. You will not want to miss our toddlers through eighth graders joining together by running laps and sharing community. If you have not yet completed your volunteer hours we need all hands on deck to pull this event off!
-
Please check at either Kelli’s or Joanne’s desks for a copy of the Inlander. Inside this issue there are many summer camps that are offered around Spokane!
Once again, it is a true gift to have such supportive parents and awesome children who make our school so special.
Have a blessed week!
In Christ’s Peace,
Angie Krauss
Be Like Christ Awards: Callen Gallagher, Cian Dougherty and Tia DiMaio.
Message from ELC Administrator Julie Simmons:
Hi to our wonderful ELC families:
Love, love, love the warmer weather finally coming our way…the kids so enjoy their time outside-much to explore and learn!
We are continuing our registration process for new families for the 2018-19 school year. While we have wait lists for all of our classrooms, we anticipate that we will have some openings in our three year old (preschool) classrooms beginning in July, so if you know of a family needing care, please send them our way for a tour of our facility. We love your referrals!
We are SO close to completing our Phase 2 of the Capital Campaign. There are a variety of ways to give…our goal is to complete furnishing our new ELC classrooms, please read below for more details and thank you for your continued generosity!
I’m also excited to announce and introduce to you our newest staff member this week, Ms. Jessica Haskins. Jessica will be joining the Chickadees classroom team beginning Tuesday. We are so excited to welcome her aboard…she comes to us from St. Anne’s Center where she was an early learning lead teacher. Welcome Jessica!
Just a reminder this week we will have a fire drill on Thursday at 9:40, please avoid drop off at that time.
Make it a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Julie
