“Community is as the heart of Christian education, not simply as a
concept to be taught, but as a reality to
be lived.”
~ To Teach as Jesus Did
Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
Dear Families,
I hope you all had a chance to enjoy the sunshine this weekend! I know the turn towards spring has definitely boosted my spirits along with a great Zag win!
This will be a busy week
for the students with Seussical and the band concert on Thursday at Gonzaga Prep High School. I am so proud of all the hard work and effort our students have displayed to prepare for these two events.
Our students in grades K-8 will attend the dress rehearsal for Seussical on Wednesday morning, so please make sure to get their permission slips turned in. If you would like to attend the play on either Thursday or Saturday tickets can be purchased online
https://goo.gl/Ye2eLP
Today, you may pick up your registration packets for next year. All ELC parents can pick their packets up from Joanne or Sandra at the registration desk and K-8 families from Kelli at the front office. These materials must be completed and returned by March 28th. We will begin Fair Share Conferences for K-8 Catholic families starting today until March 30. Please schedule a time with me, Dawn Manfred or Dena Hanson. All families who would like to access financial assistance through our Fair Share Tuition program must complete an online application through FACTS and submit federal income tax documents. FACTS provides a confidential and secure method to collect and verify
financial information. We have tomorrow evening set aside, March 20 at 6:00pm in our multimedia lab, to help any family that needs assistance with FACTS. Here is the link to begin your FACTS application. https://nazarethguild.org/tuition-assistance-program/

Fund
Run 2018:
We are gearing up for
Fund Run 2018, and Brianna Barbieri is our Fund Run Coordinator again this year. Our 2018 goal is $57,500! Let’s get ready to race to that finish line!
Fund Run 2018 Survival Packets will be distributed to your children TODAY. These packets include
your child’s Student Sponsor Request Form
and Medical Release Form
with T-shirt size request. This year we have worked to streamline the process, so these packets will be going home with the youngest student in each family. All ELC students will receive an individual packet regardless if they have an older sibling in K-8.
The Student Sponsor Request Form
is an important piece in our fundraiser as this information allows us to generate the Fund Run Pledge Letters that will be sent out in early April. These
packets are DUE Friday, March 23rd.
Please return them to the school by Friday. If you have any questions, please email Brianna Barbieri, Fund Run Coordinator, at
staloysius@dioceseofspokane.org.
Prior to Fund Run, we
have multiple volunteer opportunities for you to help out with this important fundraiser. Please contact Aleisha Webb, Volunteer Coordinator, at
awebb@dioceseofspokane.org
if you are interested in volunteering.

Box
Tops:
There
have been many questions regarding Labels for Education so I wanted to clarify. YES, the Labels for Education Program HAS ENDED, but
the
Box Tops program is still going strong!
Thank
you to all the families that have participated this year. Box Tops are such an easy fundraiser for our school! The Box Tops program sends us a check twice a year, once in December and once in April. I am very excited to announce that after the big March 1st
submission, we have surpassed our goal of $1,000, and we are currently at $1,101.70!
Did
you know Box Tops count for volunteer hours also? 50 Box Tops = 1 volunteer hour.
Please record your volunteer hour(s) under the Box Tops
category on your Volunteer Hour Summary and list your family name and the grade to credit on every bag or sheet turned in. I do not record hours for this so make sure you are keeping track.
Please
check out the Box Tops website at www.btfe.com
for coupons, bonus Box Tops, and information about the Box Tops app. Please contact Aleisha Webb at
awebb@dioceseofspokane.org
with any questions you may have.
Amazon
Smile:
If
you have not yet signed up for the Amazon Smile Program, now is a great time! Amazon
is tripling the donation
rate on your first smile.amazon.com
purchase – through March 31! Go to
smile.amazon.com/ch/91-1433780
or smile.amazon.com every time you shop online, and Amazon
will donate a percentage of your purchase to St. Al’s School.

Pride/Kudos/Prayers:
May God bless
all of our students that are performing in Seussical and the band concert this week. May God bless them as they share their musical talents with the community.
We pray for
those who are struggling with health issues. May the gift of rest and healing be showered upon them.
We pray for
all of the students of St. Al’s as they perform acts of Social Justice in our Spokane community and learn the importance of Catholic Social Teachings.
