St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic School
Monday News
February 5, 2018

“Wherever God has put you, that is your vocation.  It is not what we do but how much love we put into it.”
~Mother Teresa

Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
Dear Families,

I am so grateful for everyone that came to the Auction in our new building. It was a Holy Spirit inspired event and your support and generosity touched our school community more than we can adequately express in words. It was incredible to see such a high number of alumni attend, along
with our current parents and friends of St Als. We will have more accurate numbers of what we raised in the next couple of weeks, but the love for St. Al’s school was evident in words and donations .

On Saturday, it was heartwarming to see many of our St Al’s students receive the sacrament of First Eucharist and Confirmation at the parish. It is inspiring to see them begin practicing these sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church. Also, thank you to all our parents and sponsors that took time to make this happen for their children.

It was an honor to have Bishop Daly present with us today to bless the new gym before children officially use this space. Just a reminder that all basketball practices will be held on site starting today!

This week we will be holding open house on Wednesday and Friday for all interested families. Please make sure to spread the word to friends if they are interested in attending our school. Please turn in your enrollment sheet (attached) by Friday of this week to Kelli indicating if you will be returning next year. This is very helpful for enrollment purposes, so we can plan class-size accurately.

Once again, thank you from
the bottom of our hearts for the myriad of ways you support our school community.

In
Christ’s Peace,
Angie
Krauss

Volunteer
Hours and Opportunities:
Please
watch for Volunteer Hour Summaries to be coming home with your child today. Make sure to look it over and let me know of any questions you may have.

If
your family is low on hours, here are some ways for you to get volunteer hours in:

Help to provide
food for luncheons or class parties. There is approximately 1 staff luncheon a month! The next luncheon will be on Thursday, February 15th. Watch next weeks Monday News for a link to sign up to help!

Walk with your
student to Mass. Teachers love having helpers (especially with the younger grades) We have 1 all school Mass a month.

At school organizational
project. Will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete. Would like to have someone come in one day this week.

With the new
building opening up, we will have projects periodically that we will need help with. Please contact Aleisha Webb for more information.

Watch the Monday
News for more upcoming events or opportunities to volunteer.

Contact
Aleisha Webb with any questions you may have at awebb@dioceseofspokane.org

Auction:

Thank
you so much to all the amazing volunteers that helped make this event so wonderful! This event was truly a labor of love, and took volunteers hours and hours to make it possible.

Even
though the day of the auction has passed, we still have some work to do. We will need volunteers throughout the week to help with auction “wrap up” jobs. Times TBD. Please email Aleisha Webb at
awebb@dioceseofspokane.org
if you are interested.

STAG
Pride/Kudos/Prayers:

A
prayer of thanksgiving for a wonderful auction where we were blessed beyond our wildest expectations.

A
prayer of thanksgiving for all our students from St Als that received First Eucharist and Confirmation on Saturday at our parish.
