Message
from Principal Angie Krauss:
Dear Families,
I am excited that National
Catholic Schools Week is fast approaching. I will highlight some key events below:
Friday Jan. 26 is our staff appreciation breakfast
put on by our wonderful parents.
Sunday Jan. 28, we are hosting our Parish Appreciation
masses at the 8:30 AM and 11 AM services to thank the parishioners for all they do for our school. Your child will also receive a free dress pass for their participation in honoring our parishioners and wearing their uniforms to Mass.
Monday Jan. 29 is Nation Appreciation Day and
the free dress theme is “Tacky Tourist.”
Tuesday Jan. 30 is Teacher Appreciation and
the free dress theme is “Heroes.”
Wednesday Jan. 31 is Community Appreciation
and the free dress theme is “Sports.” The 5 and 6 grade classes will be joining Bishop Daly at the Cathedral to celebrate Catholic Schools Week Mass as a diocese.
Thursday Feb. 1 is Special Persons/Grandparents
Day, and students wear their uniforms. Beginning at 8:30 am at the school, guests will gather in the “old gym” for a short presentation and then tour of the new building. After that, they will join their child/student in the classroom and are encouraged
to attend our All School Mass presented by the fourth grade class at 10:15am.
Friday Feb. 2 is Student Appreciation and the
free dress theme is “Express Yourself.” We will hold our Student Spirit assembly that morning and our annual auction that evening.
We have already sold over
330 tickets to our annual auction and the excitement keeps building. Tickets are available to buy until this Friday the 26th, so do not delay getting them. You won’t want to miss this historic event!
Finally, due to the large
number of people attending our event and this season’s snow accumulation, parking will be extremely limited for our annual auction
on Friday, February 2.
I strongly suggest
that you schedule an Uber, Lyft, or taxi to drop you off and pick you up that evening.
Think of it this way: Uber/Lyft/Taxi + St. Al’s Parents = 100% Auction Enjoyment!
I am grateful for your
partnership in educating your child in body, mind and spirit.
In
Christ’s Peace,
Angie

This week we chatted about the North Pole. We discussed the weather and the animals that live in the Arctic, (mainly the polar bears). This week we will travel to the South Pole or the Antarctic. We will discuss the weather and the exciting world of penguins.

Volunteer
Hour Summaries went home with your child last week. Please email me at awebb@dioceseofspokane.org
if you did not receive one.
It’s
crazy to think, but we are already halfway through the school year! There are still many opportunities left this year to complete your volunteer hours. Just a friendly reminder that each
Montessori and K-8 family
with a full-time student is required to complete 20 hours of volunteer time per year, and half-day Montessori or AM Kindergarten families are required to complete 10 hours of volunteer time per year.
Hours
are to be completed and submitted by Friday, June 8th.
Any unrecorded volunteer hours will be billed out at the rate of $20.00 per uncompleted hour.
If you are concerned about completing your volunteer hours, the Volunteer Hour Summary Description sheet that was sent out at the beginning of the year is a great resource. You can find a copy of this on the school website under the Volunteer Coordinator
tab. Please feel free to email me at awebb@dioceseofspokane.org
with any questions you may have.
