St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic School
December 11, 2017
“Peace is not the absence of trouble,
But the presence of Christ.”
Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
The time has flown by in December and I can’t believe that our K-8 Christmas Program is taking place this Wednesday. We have two performances scheduled, one begins at 10am (dress rehearsal) and the other at 6:30pm. Both performances will take place at St. Aloysius Church. Please have your child wear their Sunday best at the evening performance and arrive to the church by 6:15pm.
This is a very important faith formation event for our school and I encourage all of you to attend. It is one way we prepare our hearts during this Advent season for Jesus coming on Christmas. Our students have worked very hard to put on a grand performance which illustrates the “Birth of Hope.”
I also wanted to share with you that working with your children each day is a true gift to me and our staff. Have a joyous week and remember the true reason for the season!
In Christ’s Peace,
Teddy Bears: This week we will be making special Christmas presents for our parents. On Thursday we will celebrate our colors of the month day by wearing red and green. Also on Friday we will say goodbye to Ms Madelyn, she will be truly missed.
Chickadees: This week we are working on our Christmas presents and we are making an Advent wreath.
Owls: This week in preschool we will light the second Advent candle and continue telling the story of the first Christmas. We will discuss the true meaning of Christmas and read stories about Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, Jesus’ birth, the angels appearing to the shepherds, and the star that led the people to the stable where Jesus was born.
Blue Jays: This week we will continue with our daily Advent. We will also be working on fun elf art projects and talking more about Christmas.
Hawks: This week the Hawks class will learn about the letter “Cc.” We will practice our writing skills by making Christmas cards for our families and will bake chocolate chip cookies. We also plan to work on gifts for our parents.
Tigers: This week the Tigers will be learning the letter “j” with a focus on Jesus, Joseph, jam, and jungle.
Montessori East: The topic of discussion for Montessori East will be Christmas. Please remember that Montessori will be closed from December 19th to January 2nd. Class resumes on January 3rd. Child care is available on December 19th, 20th, & 21st. There is a limit of 10 children each day (First come first served.) The sign up sheet is on the hall desk by our class door.
