“God is always waiting on us.
Somtimes we may think we are waiting on him, but this is never true. ”
~ Matthew Kelly
Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
I hope you enjoyed our first snowfall and are ready to welcome winter! It happened faster than I anticipated so now it is time to break out the coats and winter gear. Please be mindful that we will send children outside for recess in the winter unless the temperature is below 20 degrees. Please partner with us in dressing your child for the weather so they are comfortable outside with their needed attire.
This is a short school week for students in grades K-8 due to conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. If you need childcare for your child please make sure to sign up downstairs. If you cannot make your scheduled conference time please make sure to let Kelli Kelly know in the front office. We look forward to visiting with you about your child’s gifts and how we can work together to ensure success in the classroom.
I wanted to let you know that our new building construction timeline is going very well. We will be able to hold our annual school auction on February 2nd in our new building! This will be our inaugural event and a way to thank our staff, parents and donors for making this dream become a reality. Please join me in attending this historic event and ushering in this new chapter of our school’s history.
I hope you have a very blessed week!
In Christ’s Peace,
K-8th families: If you are in need of child care for November 8th and/or 9th please make sure you sign up at the downstairs desk so we have enough staffing.
Teddy Bears: This week we will be creating posters for our Veterans. These posters will be then given to the VA Hospital in Spokane.
Chickadees:.This week the Chickadees will transition from talking about Pumpkins and Halloween to taking a look at Veteran’s day. We will turn our Chickadees’ Fire Station into a place to display pictures of family members and friends who have served in the military. We will also begin working on a special Veteran’s Day project.
Owls: This week in preschool we will be learning about harvest time, scarecrows, and squirrels. We will discuss how people and animals prepare for winter by harvesting crops and collecting food. We will also discuss the changes in nature during this time of year.
Blue Jays: This week we will be talking about Veteran’s Day! We will be making special projects for the VA Hospital!
Hawks: This week the Hawks class will learn about the letter “Yy.” We will use yarn and make a yellow collage in our art area and this week’s cooking project will be to make healthy yogurt parfaits. We will also begin taking down our Halloween house and constructing a teepee!
Tigers: This week the Tigers will be learning about letter Tt. We will be writing words that start with Tt, making hand print Turkeys, and we will be changing our housekeeping center from a Halloween House to a Thanksgiving House.
Montessori East and West: The topic of discussion for Montessori will be about Veterans and our military.
Just a reminder that we will be closed on November 10th for Veterans Day.
