“Start each day with a grateful heart ”

Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
Dear Families,
We will be busy this week preparing for our annual Hallowfest celebration! I encourage all of you to attend this community building event. It is so fun to see the children in their costumes, and there are age appropriate booths for toddler through 8th grade children. Hallowfest begins at 5:00pm and will end at 8:00pm. Please be mindful that this is an event that requires adult supervision, so plan to attend with your child. There are still opportunities to volunteer, feel free to contact your room parent or Aleisha Webb, the volunteer coordinator.
Just a reminder as the weather grows colder, please send your child with a coat because we do go outside for recess, unless it is below 20 degrees. The last day for students to wear uniform shorts will be this Friday, October 27th. Also, your students will only be allowed to wear St. Al’s sweatshirts during the school day. They can wear non uniform sweatshirts out to recess, but will need to take them off when they return inside.
Hope you have a God filled week and look forward to seeing all of you at Hallowfest this Friday!
In Christ’s Peace,
Angie Krauss

Mission Advancement:
Building the Future Capital Campaign: Last Monday, every class had a chance to go into the new building and “leave their mark” on the concrete slab. It was priceless to watch the reactions on student and staff faces as they entered the building for the first time! We are already blessed by our new building. Please continue to pray for generosity and success as we work together to Cross the Phase 2 Finish Line! To date, we have raised over $2.9 million, and we still need $600,000 to complete construction and cover Phase 2 soft costs, furnishings, curriculum, landscaping, playgrounds, etc. GIVE TODAY at www.stalsschool.org<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fstals.wpengine.com&data=02%7C01%7Cahesler%40msn.com%7C07152075d56648b3f45808d51a3d43bb%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636443773571910678&sdata=C8naVPW6vsB2sAIJAvNJkIBR0%2BOA8bgWaebGL5TVYl4%3D&reserved=0> and help us Cross The Phase 2 Finish Line! Summary.
Hallowfest:
We are only 4 days away from Hallowfest! Please join us Friday, October 27th, from 5-8pm. Hallowfest is our annual celebration of Halloween here at St. Al’s. We have games, prizes, a “toddler” game area, book walk/cake walk, food, and of course, CANDY! We will also be adding The Haunted Theatre to our list of attractions this year!
Here are a few different ways your family can receive volunteer hours for Hallowfest:
* Set up on Thursday, October 26th from 6-8pm (adults only).
* Volunteer the night of Hallowfest at the many different games and activities. More information about this will be distributed through your child’s Room Parent and Booth sign up sheets will be posted outside of your child’s classroom!
* Lead Volunteer to help with the Cake/Book Walk! I am looking for someone to be in charge of the Cake/Book Walk from set-up to tear down. You will not have to stay in the room the whole evening, but need to check in periodically and make sure the classroom is put back together when Hallowfest is over.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities please email Aleisha Webb at awebb@dioceseofspokane.org<mailto:awebb@dioceseofspokane.org>. Thank you!
* Candy Donation:
We ask that every family donate 2 bags of small wrapped candy or individually packaged healthy treats that we use as prizes at Hallowfest. You can drop that off any time at the front desk with Mrs. Kelly.
* Cake & Book Donations:
We will also need cakes/cupcakes/desserts and books for our cake/book walk. Mrs. Krauss will give prizes for the best desserts in a variety of categories. Please drop off at the front office on Friday morning.
* Booth Sponsorship:
Many booth sponsorship opportunities still available! There are two levels of sponsorship available. A business or individuals/families can sponsor either the Glow Booth or The Haunted Theatre for $100 or any of the game booths for $50. Each sponsorship will have a “Booth sponsored by” sign recognizing their generosity.
* Hallowfest “pre-sale” tickets:
Tickets are on sale NOW! Ticket order forms are available at the office and are also attached to this email. Pre-sale tickets will be sold 5 for $1 and will go up to 4 for $1 on Friday, October 27th. Your ticket order will be filled and returned to teachers for distribution or you can choose to pick them up at the “Will Call” ticket counter the night of Hallowfest. Not sure how many to buy? See attached food menu prices and game ticket prices to help you decide!
* Food at Hallowfest:
Food will be served in the cafeteria beginning at 4:30! This will help families grab a quick bite before the booths open at 5:00. Please see the attachment for food ticket prices and items.
All forms for Cake/Book walk, Booth sponsorship, and Pre-sale tickets are available at the office TODAY!
Auction:
It is not too late to join our planning team. Please join us for our second meeting on Tuesday, November 14th at 5:30pm. Child care will not be provided for this meeting.
There are many ways you can help! Here are a few examples:
* Decorations
* Technology
* Silent Auction
* Backroom
* Procurement
* Set Up Crew
* Clean Up Crew
If you are interested in helping out with the auction in any way, please attend the meeting. Please RSVP to Aleisha Webb via email at awebb@dioceseofspokane.org<mailto:awebb@dioceseofspokane.org> or at 509-489-7825 ext. 244
Box Tops and Labels for Education:
Please check out the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Devita’s room for our weekly updated totals. Box Tops/Labels can be taped or glued to the sheet (no staples, please) or you can submit them in baggies. You may claim 1 hour of volunteer time for every 50 Box Tops/Labels for Education submitted. Please make sure to write your family name and grade on the sheet or baggie so that your child’s class receives credit. Each family is required to record their own hours. Please record these hours under the category “Box Tops and Labels for Education”.
STAG Pride/Kudos/Prayers:
* Please pray for the homeless in our community. May they find comfort and services they need during difficult times.
* For all of our school families and loved ones, that God will bless our lives abundantly with peace, joy, and healing, and fill us with His Holy Spirit.
