                 Happy August!!!

We still have time for some great summer fun- and that includes Summer Reading! I hope many of you took part in the summer reading program at the Public Library. Remember, we will be celebrating your summer reading in the Fall with rewards for the children who have read the most books(or hours) this summer. It's not too late- if you haven't been keeping track, start now! You can still get a book log from any Spokane library, or make your own. Just write down the titles, number of pages or hours read and the dates. You can hand the list into me in the library when school starts. We will have an assembly in September to choose a Susie Forest memorial tree for our school grounds, and many other surprises too. Never forget the 10 steps to becoming a better reader!

I am getting very excited for the new school year. I am taking another class in Visual Thinking Strategies at the Museum of Arts and Culture. The more I learn, the more I want to learn! I am really enjoying my class, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you in the Fall.

For the next few weeks, enjoy every moment of the Summer! Play ball, swim, read, write stories, plays and poems, create Art, sing, daydream and imagine cool ideas, laugh, make up silly jokes, look for four leaf clovers, make mud pies and sand castles, ride bikes and skate boards, play the piano or the drums, dance, jump rope, hula hoop, play card and board games, run through the sprinklers, and everything else you can think of! Enjoy your wonderful family!

I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Hot Dog Social on August 26th! Blessings to you all!~Mrs. Giese
