“Let today be the day you give up who
you’ve been for who you can become.”
Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
I was able to spend time in prayer this weekend thinking of the Lenten liturgical season that is beginning on Ash Wednesday. This is a sacred time for us to deepen our faith and I encourage you to spend some time with your children discussing Lent and different ways they can enrich their faith journey.
Today at Monday Morning prayer, we had a guest speaker, Debbie Wraspir, talk about Kira’s Kloset, a non-profit organization that collects clothes for children in need. (see attachment) As a whole school, toddler through 8th grade, we will be collecting clothes for this organization.
If you are able to participate, there will be collection bins located upstairs and downstairs. This is a great kick off to our social justice projects that will begin during Lent and culminate before spring break. In the next couple weeks, you will be receiving
information from teachers about your child’s upcoming social justice project.
If you have not turned in your enrollment form for next year, please return it to Kelli Kelly as soon as possible. Also, accounts must be paid in full to register for the 2018-2019 school year. Current families will begin registration on March 19, 2018. We will begin Fair Share Conferences on March 19th and run them through March 30th. We will be sharing information about a new program called FACTS that will be a tool we use in our meetings and to apply for the Nazareth Guild Tap Grant awards.
This Thursday and Friday, February 15th and 16th are teacher in-service days. On Thursday, teachers will be reviewing MAP scores and other data as a basis to modify instruction and continue work on the Self-Study for our 2019 accreditation. On Friday, teachers will take part in a spiritual retreat day, please keep us in your prayers as we take time to reflect on margin and the process of change and new growth.

have been many questions so I wanted to clarify that yes, the Labels for Education Program has ended BUT the Box Tops program is still going strong! Thank you to all of the families that have participated this year. Box Tops are such an easy fundraiser for
our school! The Box Tops program sends out checks 2 times a year, once in December and once in April. Our next submission deadline is Thursday, March 1st. Our goal this year is to earn $1,000 and we are already at $600! Please watch for a Box Tops sheet to
be coming home with your child today. These sheets hold 50 Box Tops which can be taped or glued and each full sheet earns our school $5. Did you know Box Tops count for volunteer hours also?
Box Tops = 1 volunteer hour Please record your volunteer
hour(s) under the Box Tops category on your Volunteer Hour Summary and list your families name and the grade to credit on every bag or sheet turned in. I do not record hours for this so make sure you are keeping track.
month the prize for the top 3 classes will be a popcorn party. Please check out the Box Tops website at btfe.com for coupons, bonus Box Tops, and information about the Box Tops app. Please contact Aleisha Webb at
with any questions you may have. Thank you!
As we begin the season of Lent, we pray that the next 40 days will strengthen our relationship with Christ and loved ones.
We pray for those in our community that struggle with cancer, may God’s strength and healing be with them as they proceed through treatment.
