I am so grateful that we have sunshine in the forecast this week. It has definitely been a long winter and we’re ready for some warmth and spring to appear!
I wanted to let you know that we will be offering a summer camp for grades K-4th at St. Al’s school this summer. It will begin on June 19 and end on August 18. We will offer different themes each week with an educational and spiritual focus. Please look for the attached brochure and copies coming home in red folders today. You can register for the whole summer or pick specific weeks that work for you and your family’s summer calendar. Please return this registration by May 10. If your child is a current fourth grader, they are still eligible to attend summer camp.
I wanted to thank all of you for your generosity toward the GROUNDBREAKER CHALLENGE. We have already raised $53,000 in just two weeks! Please continue to share this challenge with family and friends. I also would like to invite you to the ground breaking ceremony on the last day of school, June 14. We will have more details coming in the next few weeks.
Jen Zemke, who has served our ELC in various capacities, has resigned from her position. We will miss her, and we are thankful for all her years of service to our students and staff. Her presence will be greatly missed in our school community.
This morning, we recognized the following students at Monday Morning prayer for their Acts of Mercy: Naliesha Richardson, Elias DeLeon and Xavier Wilhelm.
In Christ’s Peace,
ELC this week:
This week, we will begin working on our special Mother’s Day gift. Also, we will be searching our playground for bugs and worms.
This week, we will continue learning about plants and observing our flowers we planted in our classroom.
This week, we will begin our discussion on plants and flowers. We will continue this topic for the next two weeks. We will discuss the parts of a flower/plant, the importance of flowers/plants, how they grow and even plant some seeds and watch how they grow.
This week, in the Hawks class we will be learning letter “Nn”. We will conclude our study of birds, try different noodles, and we will begin our spring assessments..
This week, our theme is Mother’s and May flowers. We will start our Mother’s Day gifts and work on letters ‘U and V’ and counting books.
This week, Tigers will be doing a unit on recycling and how to protect our Mother Earth! We will learn a recycling song and come up with ideas on recycling. With our magazines, we will pick out things you can recycle, cutting and pasting them onto a big poster board!
