St. Al’s School Performing Arts Club is proud to announce that our school has recently been granted a charter to be officially registered with the Educational Theatre Association as Junior Thespian Troupe #89442. Eligibility to be a member of the troupe is based on each student’s good standing in academics and behavior, as well as completing at least 50 hours of extra-curricular drama-related activities.
EdTA’s student honors organization, the International Thespian Society, is the world’s largest honor society recognizing excellence and achievement in middle and high school theatre students. More than 2 million students have been inducted into ITS since its beginning in 1929. Through their EdTA membership, Thespians have access to college auditions, scholarship money, workshops and competitions at both a state and national level, and countless other young people with similar interests. Theatre teaches powerful life skills and prepares all students for a bright future. EdTA’s sole mission is to empower and affirm young Thespians for whatever future they choose.
