Critical Thinking with 7/8 Art

7 8 critique pic

The seventh and eighth graders are nearing the end of a lengthy acrylic painting unit which began with an in-depth artist’s study of Vincent Van Gogh’s life and work.  They learned to create texture and movement with paint, and we are in the process of doing our first class-wide peer critique, St. Al’s style, where we keep Christ in our hearts and words as we evaluate each others’ work.  I am so impressed with their compassion, kindness, and artistic gifts!

I am St. Aloysius School's art teacher for grades K-8. It is a joy to bring art instruction to our students.
