Our Technology elective classes have just completed courses in coding from Code.org. These lessons teach basic coding skills using the blocking method. The idea is to get students to begin thinking about how to write programs to solve a problem. At one level, the student is asked to create a code using functions, actions, loops and logic that will help the farmer dig and fill holes. This requires the students to write code that will resolve the problem.
Technology 2 just finished designing apps using their own imagination. One such app was for use in the kitchen. You begin by listing all of the ingredients you have on hand in your pantry, and it will provide a recipe for you to create a delicious, nutritious meal! Others created games no one has thought of yet. We are moving into web design next!
