Happy New Year from Third Grade

2017!! We are off to a chilly start with children ready for new learning. The children are now taking the MAPS testing for the winter. We are doing a unit on immigration and maps that cross curricular our Reading and Social Studies while also touching on Catholic Social teachings as we discuss the just distribution of natural resources and the care for all of God’s creation.

We will be learning the three branches of government. A special guest speaker from the Judicial Branch is Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Mary Fairhurst. When the date is secured I will invite parents to join us.

Our school Auction is just around the corner on February 3. Our traditional third grade pottery piece is in keeping with our lambs of God theme but we have changed it up a bit. If you have bought earlier pieces in past years this will compliment them nicely.

NO school Monday, January 16 as we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr..

Details of events for Catholic Schools Week coming soon.
