Message from Principal Angie Krauss:
Welcome to the wonderful season of Advent! This is such a special time in our liturgical year. A great time for prayer, reflection, traditions, as we wait for Christ the King! We will meet in the mornings for Advent prayer as a whole school throughout the Christmas season. We are fortunate during this time to have several opportunities to share Christ’s joy through a variety of spiritual activities.
This week our all school Advent Mass will be held on Thursday, December 1st at 10:00 am at the parish. This will be the last Mass that Father Case will be celebrating with our school community. As you may know, Father Case will be transferred to California after the first of the year. He has been an unwavering source of support to our school in the past eight years. We will be sad to see him leave, but know that much deserved rest and peace will come with retirement. Father Case will be visiting all of the classes during the week of December 5th-9th to say goodbye to the children and staff. We have been so blessed to have been touched by his leadership and commitment to Catholic education!
You may have heard your child singing Christmas songs as they prepare for our annual Christmas program. This year the program will be a play titled, Glorious Night. This play was written by Mr. Barfield and will be different from years past, but will still include music featuring many classic holiday favorites. Mark your calendars for December 14th at 6:30 for the big event! We will also have a full dress rehearsal on that same day beginning at 10:00am.
We will have a fire drill on Tuesday at 2:30pm incase you are picking up your child early please note this change in schedule.
Once again, thank you for sharing your child with us. It is a blessing to work with them each day!
This morning, we recognized the following students at Monday Morning prayer for their Acts of Mercy: Blake Vue, Abe Krauss, Laurel Sefton and Averee Tichacek.
Week of Nov. 28th – Dec. 2nd:
We will begin to prepare for Christmas by putting up and decorating a Christmas tree for our classroom. Also, we will make the Christmas tree for our bulletin board by finger painting with the color green.
Next week we will continue to talk about thankfulness. We will also start talking about the change in seasons and beginning of new month.
This week we will discuss how animals prepare for winter. The class will learn what animals hibernate or migrate and why. Our main focus will be on bears and how they get ready for a long and cold winter.
This week we will talk about our Thanksgivings and graph popular traditions! Also we will be finishing assessments, learning letter ‘Zz’ and for our cooking project, taste Zeppoli! Our religion focus will be on Advent.
We will be discussing the meaning of Advent next week. The children will make Advent wreaths for the classroom.
Tigers will continue practicing songs for the Christmas program! Our special letter and sound next week is “Ss”. We will also be making Christmas crafts for our families.
