Dear Parents and Second Graders,
The homework is a fun family project which is due no later than Friday, Nov. 18th. See the attached materials to get you started on your project: Instructions, turkey outline, turkey paper for story, and poster board. You need to disguise your turkey so it doesn’t look like a turkey! The turkey wants to escape from Thanksgiving, so you need to keep it safe by dressing it up in a disguise – use your imagination, be creative and have fun! Use as many creative materials as you can find such as cloth remnants, yarn, sequins, nature items, food items….. the sky is the limit! You may bring your project early if you would like since they will be put on display on our hall bulletin board. Also write a story about how your turkey escaped from Thanksgiving. You can use the paper provided. Please remember capital letters, punctuation and neatness in your writing. We will go on our field trip to the “Elf, Jr.” on Tues. Nov. 8th. We will leave on the bus about 9:30 and return at 12:00. Please provide a cold lunch for your child to eat in our classroom when we return from the play. There is no school on Wednesday Nov. 9th and Thursday Nov. 10th due to parent conferences. There also is no school on Friday Nov. 11th due to Veterans Day.
On Friday the class met with several senior citizens from the Academy Retirement Home at the St. Al’s social hall. The children read books to them and both groups shared memories of their childhood. It was quite touching and we hope to do it again. We even had a 100 year woman participate.
Please note conference times below!
Thank you so much for all your time, talent, and treasure you devote to the education of your child.
Have a blessed week!
Mrs. Diane Weber
